VOL State Winnies State Club

The Tennessee State Rally was held on October 27-30 in Lebanon, TN. “Happy Birthday” was our theme as the
VOL State Winnies celebrated their 35th year as a WIT Club. All of the rooms were decorated with bright colors to be sure everyone knew we were there to celebrate! We had 88 coaches along with 14 other states represented.
The party was kicked off with various pre-rally tours: Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville, City of Lebanon Museum & History Center, Fiddler’s Grove, and the Nissan Motors Manufacturing Plant located in Smyrna,TN.
Eating was NOT out of the schedule for our members and guests.
After all, when you are celebrating, food just seems to go right along
with it. On Thursday evening, the potatoes were loaded but thankfully, we weren’t! On Friday morning after the opening ceremony, Tennessee’s famous “Hospitality Table” was dressed to the nines with a variety of food that would send any person to their comfort zone! On Friday evening we were treated to pulled pork with all of the trimmings. We don’t want to forget the delicious peach cobbler that Aggie King made for all of us to enjoy. On Saturday morning, a full breakfast of pancakes and sausage was served and when Saturday evening rolled around, there was smoked chicken with cornbread pancakes and two side dishes. And, what is a birthday celebration without birthday cake for dessert. Needless to say, no one went hungry at the TN State Rally!
After our karaoke venue on Thursday evening, we were entertained on
Friday evening by DJ Garrison and his one man band. On Saturday evening we all sat back and enjoyed the music of Jennifer Brantley.
Games, dessert walk, vendors, raffles, pet parade, door prizes, and money
hats were just a few of the other ingredients added to make this Rally a special one for all of the VOL State Winnies and their out-of-state members/friends.
