VOL State Winnies News
President's CornerWe had an enjoyable 11 day Caribbean cruise in January, then back to the deep freeze in Crossville – a reminder of why we haven’t spent many winters in Tennessee. Hope all are enjoying life’s pleasures wherever you are. We are looking forward to reminiscing and renewing our acquaintances at VSW’s April campout in Lebanon.
Make sure you check out the changes to the preliminary schedule of events for the April campout. Major change is the inclusion of the Décor Tour of Cracker Barrel Warehouse on Friday afternoon. These tours have recently reopened after being closed after 911. Tours are limited to 30 persons. We have scheduled a tour for the October Rally, thus would like our members to attend in April to save places in October for our guests. Also, due to making reservations for the Redneck Comedy Bus Tour, we need the names of those going and have to make payment at time of reservation on the internet. Thus, we have to make reservations before the general public does. – Note: the April 8th Reservation deadline. This date also coincides with Cracker Barrel’s required tour participant’s names a little over 2 weeks in advance. Since our Treasurer will be in warm Florida until early April, and the early dates of tour reservations we’ve requested the April campout registration be sent to me. Ralph Wiggers, VSW President Georgia WIT Wild, Wild West Rally
We have been invited to attend their Rally May 1-5, 2019 at Bald Mountain Camping Resort in Hiawassee, GA.
More information at http://rally.gawit.com or Fred Tomsett 404-626-3696. For Rally Bulletin and Application Form: GA Rally Flyer/Registration Since VSW’s April campout ends April 28th, there are three nights before the May 1st date. If there are any interested in going from our campout to the Georgia Rally, please let Ralph Wiggers know. If you are interested in coordinating a group to caravan with a stop over place for 1 or 2 nights, your volunteering would be appreciated. Hiawassee is a great area and should be nice in early May. Several of us had a great time caravaning to Louisiana Rally from our October campout a few years ago. Hopefully, we can coordinate the same for LA”s Rally in October 2020. We have the ability to set our date so this will be feasible. 2019 VSW DuesOur Treasurer, Joe Moore, either has or will shortly send a message to members who are due to renew their VSW membership for 2019. Hope that you still have your Winnebago product line and WIT membership and continue with us. With Biennial TN State Rally coming up in October hope to see you all at some or all of our 2019 outings.
Music City News
MCW met at the Corner Pub in Mt Juliet on January 19th with 2 coaches represented and 2 honorary member coaches present. We enjoyed a nice meal and got caught up on our post-Christmas and New Year’s gossip. MCW will meet again this Saturday February 16th at Cinco De Mayo on Nonaville Road in Mt Juliet at 11 am to partake of some wonderful Mexican food. We would like to invite anyone who may be in the area to come join us if they like.

Nominating Committee
Mike Logan, m.logan33@yahoo.com and Ed Potts, eypotts@aol.com compose the nominating committee for development of a slate of officers for the 2020 period. The slate of officers should be ready by the end of August 2019 for dissemination to the members in September for the election and installation in October. Term of office is currently from the close of the October 2019 Rally to the close of the October 2020 campout.
The webmaster has offered an option to ease the preparation of a newsletter for the state and chapters. Don’t be afraid to volunteer for one of the officer positions. Some states have a separate rally master from the President. I understand that VSW has done this on occasion in the past. I know we have a lot of talent in our membership and it would help spread the workload, by having a volunteer to be the rally master for 2021. There is a lots of history recorded on the details of what needs to be done and there are always volunteers to assist in various aspects of developing and conducting the rally. |
